I hit pause on everything. Canceled my tentative plans for the day (which only involved cleaning anyhow, so win win). Sipped Raspberry Gingerale, read a new book, and fell asleep on the couch. Awake in that in-between state now. I'm no longer asleep but not full awake. Time to return to my novel. I got six new ones for Christmas! What did Santa bring you all?
The picture's backwards, but I hope you can make out the titles. I took John Green's advice with The Blood of the Lamb, Everybody Sees the Ants, and The Magicians. Other book-tubers steered me toward Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Why We Broke Up. Simple "I'm-a-nerd" necessity required owning a copy of Fahrenheit 451 and I may or may not have flipped out when I found the exact same edition of Cat's Cradle that Emma Stone was reading in tASM.... Plus, Alaska's fondness for it has had me wanting to read it for a long time.

Sorry you're not feeling so hot, Abby. At least it hit after Christmas, right? I got the same copy of Fahrenheit 451 as a gift! I've been wanting to read quite a few books in that stack for a while. Be sure to tell us how you liked them, kay?
ReplyDeleteAwesome books! I got the boxed set of John Green's novels(which I'm still squealing over)and am now attempting to read them all before school starts and I'm swamped with work. We'll see how that works out... I hope you post some reviews of the books when you finish them! Random question, but have you read The Casual Vacancy? I've been wanting to get it for ages but I've read some mixed reviews. (Sorry if you have and already talked about it. My memory is really horrible.)
ReplyDeleteHello Abby it's Colin. You asked us what Santa brought us and I am going to tell you...(this ties in with what I need to tell you in this comment.) Santa Claus brought me a mug with the first letter of my name on it (C), a ornament with an owl on it (owls are my favorite animal), an a brand new HP laptop. When I got it they asked me to submit my email in the start up process. My old email wasn't working so I made a new one. After that, I went to go log into my old email...AND IT WASN'T WORKING...naturally I got upset...So I had to make a new everything such as: Tumblr, Youtube account, and new Blogspot account. This means that there are two of me following this blog. So what this comment is about is that there are two people named Colin following your blog. So, I am the same person...so I can't delete the account of the picture of me in the Santa hat...SORRY.
ReplyDeleteSo as you said, I am sad that I didn't get any books for Christmas, but I did go to the library today. I got three books: The Book Thief....The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian...The Rangers Apprentice (? I don't know about that one because it ugh my sister picked it out...and thanks to your suggestion in one of your videos, Going Bovine. So excited to read and escape.
Also, in some way do you like being sick? I know this is weird...I know I like hate the pain, but I feel somewhat awesome when I get sick. Send Help.
Thanks for Reading...Sincerely,
Colin
